U16 DH/Super-G January 15-20.
The Powderhorn Racing Club (PRC) U16 USSA racers went to Aspen Highlands to race against the top U16s in the Rocky Mountain Division (RMD). They raced on the same course as the FIS racers which included several members of the US Ski Team and a past Olympian. In the Downhill races, the girls were led by Madi Pill Kastens, who placed 56th out of 71 racers and Lucy Foley who placed 59th in their best races, respectively. The boys were led by Matthew Meyers who top finish was 29th (out of 52 racers) and Ryan Foley who placed 45th in their best races, respectively. It was also the first time these PRC racers competed in a Downhill race.
The competition switched to Super-G on January 19-20, where Madi Pill Kastens led the girls, placing 57th out of 87 racers and Lucy Foley placed 73rd. The boys were led again by Matthew Meyers who finished 14th out of 62 racers and Ryan Foley finished 48th. The Super-G races were the first leg of the qualifier for the RMD’s U16s.
U14 Super-G January 23-24
The PRC U14 USSA racers, some of whom where attending their first speed event, competed at Breckenridge (January 23-24) to race against the best U14s in the Rocky Mountain Division (RMD). The girls were led by Annika Sisac who finished 52nd and Carolina Robinson who finished 86th out of 99 girls in their best races, respectively. The boys were led by Joshua Meyers who finished 27th, Colton Williams (67th), Noah Mathwig (69th) and Garrett Jennings (94th) out of 115 boys in their best races, respectively. The Sunday race was also the first leg of the qualifier for the U14s in the RMD.
