General Information
For alpine skiers ages 7-13
The YSL team is an introduction to ski racing, providing training in fundamentals and a basic understanding of the rules of the sport. YSL athletes will train on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season. It is designed to allow the athlete to pursue other interests and is the entry program if the athlete is not yet at the required skill or commitment level that the USSA Team programs require. Athletes will have access to the YSL (Youth Ski League) race series, with a goal to advance to the full-time USSA Age Class programs if desired.
The program spans the ages of U8 – U16 (7 – 14 year olds), emphasizing fundamental skill development through drills, all-mountain free skiing, drill courses and gate training, providing approximately 30% of their training time in gates
A USSA Youth Membership is required for athletes to race in YSL events. Please go to http://my.ussa.org to complete your USSA membership.
